New Youth Group Launched
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 by Fr. Mark in NewsI’m excited for our church! God is on the move within us, and I am grateful for his grace and blessings. On Sept. 9 we launched a new youth group in cooperation with St. James Anglican Church. Eight kids came to the first gathering and 13 came the next week. Kids from both churches have brought friends. It’s exciting and fun-and encouraging to see kids excited about being together.
Please keep this new ministry in your prayers. We’re playing games and having great snacks and just getting to know each other. Our Bible study is “Why did Jesus ask that? Understanding how God shapes lives and relationships.” Jesus asks questions that reveal something about God and something that God wants us to see about ourselves. Very thought-provoking! We will alternate meetings between the Steeves’ home and a St. James family, the Baslers. Susan Basler is helping to launch the group with me. For an outline for the youth series, go to http://www.ctkanglican.com/events/youth-group.
Many of you are also registered for retreat. I’m looking forward to being together, relaxing, and dreaming of our future together. Thank you, Shawnie Lauer and Jana Steeves , for taking the outline for retreat and designing suitable lessons and activities for the kids. We’re going to have a great time!
